Last week I went on a family vacation to Colorado so I thought I would share some of the pictures from it 🙂 It was so so beautiful and hiking is one of my favorite activities so it was the perfect vacation for me.
On the first day we flew into Denver and visited the state capitol building, walked around downtown, and went to Red Rocks Park.
The reason we went to Colorado in the first place was for my cousin’s wedding near Vail so we drove there from Denver the next day. The wedding was in a little chapel in Beaver Creek which was completely surrounded by trees and the reception overlooked the mountains and was so pretty and nice. It was super fun getting to see all of my cousins and aunts and uncles and dancing all night.

The view from the wedding reception!
We went on lots of hikes in the mountains during the trip and the pictures below are from a hike we did near Vail. We also drove to Boulder and hiked on a trail in Estes Park, which is in Rocky Mountain National Park. The hiking in Colorado is obviously much tougher than in the Midwest (because there are actual mountains there, duh) and it has the best views the entire time.
Next, we drove to Colorado Springs and went on a bike ride down Pikes Peak. This was probably the scariest thing I’ve ever done because I hate heights and we had to drive up the 14,000 foot mountain in a huge van and then ride down on the curvy roads. We were literally driving and riding on the edges of cliffs almost the whole time so I thought I was going to die that day. It was so much fun though and I’m definitely glad I did it once but probably would not do it again. After that, we went to Garden of the Gods which was so pretty as well.
The mountain we rode down- seriously so high!
Finally, here are some pictures I took of the mountains and I can’t even remember where these are because we were surrounded by the prettiest mountain views basically everywhere we went. It was such a fun week and I loved getting to see Colorado for the first time!!
